Boukie's Shader Editor
A downloadable tool for Windows
I built this standalone tool to help me preview 2d GDshaders. It's a standalone shader editor that builds canvas_item
shaders using plain GDScript.
I started to flesh it out a bit more after i used it for myself to make a simple flag shader and now its becoming something entirely more useful, though definitely a work in progress.
It supports all the usual types—floats, bools, vec2, vec3, vec4, textures, etc.—and handles a lot of common visual effects like animated noise, distortion, sparkle, waveforms, and tinting. There's a built-in Worley noise function, and you can animate things with simple time-based logic, switch between noise types, offset UVs, apply noise to colors or UVs or both, and so on.
I made it to speed up my own workflow when prototyping visual effects and shader-based animations in 2D. I wanted somewhere I could tweak a few things, hit generate, and immediately get something useful.
It can also translate gdshaders into Opengl, though functionality for importing Opengl is not implemented yet, If you want to support my work, You will be able to get more info and project files on my [Ko-Fi] as I update the software.
hope this can be helpful
